Finance and close: turn exceptions into a controlled queue

Accounts payable, receivables, cash flow and accounting entries need evidence, reconciliation and ownership. Agents help organize work through final review.

Prepared on Oct 28, 2026 · 2 min

Start with reconciliation exceptions

Choose one queue: unidentified receipts, missing documents or entries awaiting classification. The agent gathers records and suggests matches with source evidence. The analyst approves or returns the proposal. This workflow measures preparation gains without giving the model authority over accounting balances.

Organize payables, receivables and cash

For payables, highlight upcoming due dates, incomplete documents and discrepancies. For receivables, gather collection history, disputes, due dates and evidence. In cash flow, separate actuals from forecasts and expose receipt and payment assumptions. An email promise is not bank settlement; retain the source and date of each update.

A traceable close

Create a checklist by entity and accounting period with ownership, dependencies and supporting documents. The agent can follow up on exceptions, explain differences and prepare proposed entries. Accounting policy, the chart of accounts and approved rules must come from company sources. ERP records the authorized entry, and review preserves the link between document, proposal, approver and final record.

Tax, SPED and tax reform

Use AI to organize documents, compare master data and flag inconsistencies for the tax team. Fiscal SPED, accounting SPED and inventory information must be handled under the applicable filing and layout, not as one obligation called Inventory SPED. Tax calculation, classification, signing and submission remain subject to specialist validation. For Brazilian tax reform, maintain dated, versioned official guidance instead of using model memory as a calculation rule.

Control irreversible actions

Payment proposals, bank-detail changes, receivable write-offs, offsets and final postings must follow company approval rules. Separate preparation from approval. Record who authorized the action, what changed and where the evidence is. Platform logs help investigate instrumented actions but do not replace accounting records or independently demonstrate tax compliance.

Evaluate before the next close

Reprocess an authorized sample from a closed period without writing to the official ledger. Compare proposed classification, retrieved evidence, preparation hours and reviewer rework. Measure cost per correctly resolved exception and the share of items requiring investigation. Move to production with acceptance criteria agreed by finance, accounting and technology.
