What the official source reports
OpenAI announced workload identity federation: external tokens can be exchanged for temporary access tokens instead of long-lived static keys.
What this means for your operation
Our view: AI projects need to treat identity as architecture. A production application, pipeline and local test should not share access merely for convenience. This offers an alternative for teams that already manage an identity provider and control which workloads may receive tokens.
Next step for evaluation
Map current key usage, application owners and revocation procedures. Test federation in an isolated integration before replacing credentials. Provider availability does not mean every Zild connector already supports this mode: verify the integration contract and keep its supported method until validation is complete.
